As an entrepreneur, Hyderabad-based Hyndavi Reddy’s journey took off in the year 2014. She is into fashion designing and her designer collections are attractive enough to fascinate you. Since childhood, the creative world of handmade jewelleries and fabric designing always drew her interest. And, starting Ananya’s Creations, her own designer studio perhaps was the best decision that she ever took in her life.
Today, in this interview session, Hyndavi Reddy joins us from Hyderabad to share her inspiring story!
Hi Hyndavi, welcome to this interview session of conflatingVisions. Please tell us a few lines about yourself.
Thank you for this great opportunity to share my experience. I am Hyndavi Reddy from Hyderabad, happily married to Anil Reddy, owner of a private company. Our cute daughter Ananya Reddy is just 2 years and 4 months old. Academically, I studied BA Communication from Osmania University.
Please tell us about your venture on handmade jewelleries.
I started my venture on handmade jewelleries one year back. After a lot of experiments and trials and errors, I came up with my own lineup of handmade jewelleries. I went through the works of famous designers, conducted research works before starting my first venture on Wedding Jewelleries.
In my early days as a jewellery designer, I have designed neck set along with earnings, mang tikka vaddanam bangles with pattu saree and designer blouses.
How did you learn jewellery designing?
I always took large interests in handmade jewelleries and fabric designing. It was mainly because of this interest of mine, I became a designer involving clothing and jewelleries. I am a self-taught jewellery designer and have never attended any jewellery designing courses.
How do you go about deciding on the designs of your handmade jewelleries?
My jewelleries are all customized ones. The jewellery designs mostly depend on customer choices. I also customize my jewelleries based on the outfits and colours of dresses. I ensure that my designs perfectly match the attires of my clients.
We know creativity and commerce play an integral part towards making a business successful. How do you manage these aspects of your business?
Yes, creativity and commerce play are integral parts of a business. With creativity alone, no business will succeed and with money, one can never buy creativity. For the success of any business, both of them are essential. I am facing many problems with commerce because I am from a middle-class family where we get a margin amount for a month and we need to adjust with that for the entire month. So in this case, I don’t enjoy the liberty of spending a huge amount on my business and my workers. However, I never felt that I can’t do this business because I always wanted to develop my fashion world. I am moving forward by maintaining a balance between everything.
What has been the most satisfying moment for you as an entrepreneur?
Actually, I am not satisfied with what I have done until now. I believe that I haven’t yet reached my goal. For me, it’s just the beginning of my entrepreneurial life.
Who inspires you the most in your journey?
Shashi Vangapalli. We don’t know each other but every time I saw her works, I got inspired. She worked as a software engineer and she is now a well-known fashion designer in India. The way she presented in Lakme Fashion Show, I instantly fell in love with her outfits.
Hats off to you Shashi Vangapalli. I am proud of you.
How has been the growth of your venture Ananya’s Creations Designer Studio since inception?
Ananya’s Creations Desiner Studio has grown quite steadily. I am satisfied with my business growth right from the beginning. I don’t have any issues, everything is going well.
Hyndavi, what are some of the challenges that you often have to deal with?
As human beings, challenges are common in our lives. We need to face each and every challenge in a way to win them. We shouldn’t move away from the challenges. I too have faced so many of them when I started my business. Sometimes the challenges were within my family, sometimes with my workers and sometimes with customers. I fought them and emerged as a winner every single time.
What are your future plans?
I have a dream of owning my own boutique. I need to develop my business and want to design for our Prime Minister Narendra Modi and want to become a designer for politicians only for political parties and leaders.
Anything else you want to share…
Yes, I am really very lucky to have such a fabulous family with me and especially my daughter Ananya. I am blessed to have a special person in my life my partner and my friend Vasanthi. I am really lucky you are my partner in our business. Without your support, I wouldn’t have come this long way. Love you darling and thank you so much for everything.
And one last question of this session Hyndavi, if you have had one wish…
No wishes. God knows everything. He will take care of everything. So, I never wish for anything. Sarvejana Sukhino Bhavanthu!
