Linsha Maria Joseph works as a software engineer in Bangalore and is a home baker out of passion. She is an art lover who takes a large interest in various forms of art and craft since childhood days. The love for arts in gradual course of time inspired her to explore the creative field of baking. In June 2014, Linsha started her baking venture Crumbs n Creams in Bangalore.
Today, Linsha Maria Joseph joins us in this interview session with conflatingVisions to share her story.
Hi Linsha, welcome to this interview session of conflatingVisions. To begin with, please introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi! I am Linsha Maria Joseph, and I am basically a software engineer working full time. I do baking out of passion. Since my childhood days, I always had a passion for art. I used to do oil paintings on canvas, make crafts, etc. So making cakes in different themes are really exciting for me.
Who introduced yourself to the world of baking?
I myself out of my interest.
Have you ever attended a baking course at any baker school to learn baking?
Yes, to learn baking, I have attended a baking class from Marina Charles, Domlur.
How was your first baking experience? Did everything went right?
Oh yes, I started baking cakes in cooker. Even though it was tasty, it didn’t had the texture.
Tell us about your baking venture Crumbs n Creams by Linsha. What motivated you to become an entrepreneur?
I always had the fire inside to start something own. But the question was what it should be. My aim was it should fulfill and enhance my creative side plus I could earn something good out of it. This led to the start of my baking venture Crumbs n Creams by Linsha.
Creativity and commerce are integral parts of a business. How do you strike a productive balance between the two?
I don’t take too much orders. But when I take I make sure that quality ingredients go into my baked products and the design is in accordance with the client’s wish and of course, I charge for the effort I put in.
What are some of the signature items of Crumbs n Creams by Linsha?
Chocolate cake with berry filling, Kiwi berries blast, red velvet with cream cheese frosting, Banana cake with chocolate and cream cheese frosting and boozy Christmas fruit cake are the signature items of Crumbs n Creams by Linsha.
Linsha, what is your favourite cake recipe?
It’s always the Christmas fruit cake.
How has the decision to take up baking as your profession influenced your life?
From a positive aspect, I feel like I became more productive and has improved on time management, etc. And yes, along with a full-time job, it’s challenging. I have to invest my sleep in making those beauties.
What are your future plans for growth?
I am planning to expand the delivery options of Crumbs n Creams by Linsha across Bangalore.
